Artist Statement: This portrait is the focal point of a series of artworks that focus on insecurities and the journey of embracing one’s features. In order to ride the embracement journey a friendship with yourself has to be created. The blue within this artwork is meant to emphasize the insecurities and the colorful flowers are meant to signify growth and confidence. Through the choice of color I chose to juxtapose confidence and insecurities.
