Artist Statement: I created an art piece dedicated to Audre Lorde. I chose Audre because she is an inspiring activist, novelist, and was determined to use her civic power to encourage others to speak out too. I think this art work is a symbol of her bravery and dedication to make people more aware of important issues to continue to support. I hope I can encourage people to research her and learn more about her contributions through this piece.
