Artist Statement: For this artwork, I used regular household materials. The portrait is simple, imperfect yet captures the expression of hope. The big idea of my artwork was to show the two sides of Alice, coping with schizophrenia; how she viewed herself and how others saw her. I also wanted to include her torments, or how she might’ve looked not being able to be comprehended by others.
