Artist Statement:
My piece is representational of the song Take a Bite by beabadoobie. I use the prompt of lyric interpretation a lot in my own personal work, and this song has so much imagery in it itself. It’s a song reflecting on the artists own toxicity in relationships and self sabotage and I love that in an artistic sense. The song is about love, but it’s about creating problems that aren’t there. Loving someone so much that you idolize a perfect version of them that is entirely fabricated, and obviously it hurts them in the long run. Quite literally, taking a bite from their heart that they entrusted you with.
