Artist Statement:
Fourth-grade students at Hamilton Elementary collaborated with local Chicago mixed-media artists Lauren Temiyakarn and Carrie Eizik to create dreamlike collages inspired by the iconic works of Jean-Michel Basquiat. Using bold, vivid colors and overlapping layers, students added textured papers, symbols, figures, and words, imbuing their artwork with a rich sense of depth and a dreamlike quality.
