Artist Statement:
I decided to paint a cup of coffee because it’s a staple drink in so many people’s lives including mine. I changed the colors of a previously black-and-white image to convey a very energetic mood/vibe, just like you took a sip of the coffee! To do this, I used a triadic color scheme with the colors, yellow-orange, blue-green, and red-violet. By completing this painting, I learned that trial and error is the way to go when painting as I had to repaint over several areas in order to get a seamless blend between my colors.
