Artist Statement:
My alter ego is confidence and defiance. I represented this through what I wear and own, showcasing my worth. With my hoop earring, ring, and one of my favorite books, “The Hunger Games,” I demonstrate my confidence and my defiance against caring about others’ opinions. My serious expression signals that I won’t be pushed around, and my pose reflects my self-assuredness. Completing this portrait pencil drawing taught me that I am my own person, complete with flaws and qualities that define me.
