Artist Statement:
A lone soldadera faces a bloodthirsty lamb-like monster, unwilling to surrender. Their confrontation reflects the violence and destruction stemming from Christian colonization, and honors the role Indigenous women played in the rebellion against cultural genocide and the fight for female and Indigenous rights. Historical influence taken from the Zapatistas of the Mexican Revolution.
