Artist Statement:
The initial prompt given for this piece was to create a silhouette of a side profile, that being done and filled in with a sharpie. I was then given free rein of art materials such as the ones listed above. I was able to create a depth in my piece unlike what I was capable of before, as well as using compositional elements to create a contrasting background to the foreground. The background utilizes abstract qualities to still leave space for the foreground to obtain the foremost attention of the viewer.
