Artist Statement: In my current body of work, I aim to make pieces that serve as an emotional release and that can represent the things that I have difficulty verbalizing. Growing up in Chicago and being able to experience local shows and music has heavily shaped the way I view the world and my social life. In my work, I usually prefer to work with many different types of materials including collage, clay, paint, marker, and colored pencils. Limiting myself to one medium often feels unsatisfying and limiting for me when trying to express myself. Additionally using multimedia gives my work a more messy and natural look, which I think reflects my style and narrative well.
