Artist Statement: I began my work with the sole purpose of getting an A in my photography class. I would walk around Chicago for hours looking for new places that can capture the different perspectives of the city. I would sometimes spend so much time trying to find a specific shot that I had envisioned in my head only to realize the good shots are the ones that happen unexpectedly. I soon realized this was more than a grade to me. It became something enjoyable, something personal. The process of hunting for that perfect shot all around the city became a form to grow closer to the city I grew up in and a way for me to express my perspective on Chicago.
