Artist Statement: For Disco – 2024 and Organ – 2024, I tried to make a sort of still life, where things fit into the photo around it, but also really stand out because of what they are. In Disco – 2024, the three disco balls on the ground fit in with the colors and lighting of the shot, but they’re disco balls on the ground, something not really normal. Both of these images refer to the way that certain parts of dreams can be confusing, yet fit into everything so inconspicuously. Dreams are rarely logical and I wanted to highlight that fact in these images.
