Artist Statement: In society, we as a whole are bound by multiple stigmas that are seemingly normal, but in the grand scheme, are rejected. I wanted to embrace the rejection of these concepts and combine it with the scenarios I’ve witnessed where someone was suppressed, silenced, or holding in their true thoughts and feelings. I wanted to show these struggles of man alike to show that we aren’t perfect. How can I as a facilitator show the emotions of man with shock? How can I bring more attention to my pieces by showing the gruesome humanization of these stigmas? How can I show the damage that’s been done?
