Artist Statement: As I am rising to be the first-ever female Eagle Scout in my troop, I began to think about my time in scouting. How does scouting help teach someone life skills? How do scouts form relationships? What connection do scouts have among older generations? Throughout my investigation, I document outings that we as a troop go on. I capture the bonds of the scouts, the skills they learn and practice, and their connections with their parents and older scouts. Scouting is about kids being able to be themselves and form a community within.
