Description: The scene is O’Hare airport, and is supposed to depict my parents first arriving in America. The repetition of the overwhelming blinding lights along with the reflective ground was inspired by teamLab Borderless to represent isolation in a foreign place. The writing on the sign is illegible to depict how my parents were unable to comprehend English. The blur on the edges give it a vignette style, which is contrasted by the bright lines to represent the physical movement of the flow of people.
