Artist Statement:
Styles shift and materials change, but the effect of our built environments remains constant. From Classic to Gothic, Romanesque to Contemporary, our surroundings permeate our lives. But we also affect architecture’s direction, with buildings reflecting the people who create them. These man-made buildings affect, shelter, and witness our lives throughout history.
In this piece, I created a 3D sculpture that reflected the facades of various architectural eras, and superimposed digital animations on top to capture the timelessness of our great buildings: the built legacy we leave behind.
