Artist Statement: No one can escape the constraints of death, and the power it holds over the living world. The scythe, a symbol of the Grim Reaper and death itself, is contrasted by representations of my own reasons for living. As we are faced with death every day, appreciation for life is ever essential. Life comes with many hardships, but we must never give up. This artwork is meant to make viewers think about their own reasons for a living when all seems lost.
