Description: This installation piece was created to honor my grandfather and his hobby of thrifting. I thrifted all the objects at Goodwill and refurbished them and displayed them in a “treasure box” to symbolize how my grandpa saw his thrifted creations as his treasures and like gold. I wanted to go through the same process as he did to feel his artistic process.
Artist Statement: Two of my pieces are made to remember and honor my grandfather. My pieces reflect the memories I have of him and his character and also explore Vietnamese culture. My other piece reflects my personality and my identity with a bag.
