Artist Statement:
I love my city. I think the architecture that surrounds us is wondrous. This year’s theme of “Home” could not be more perfect. Exploring neighborhoods, discovering new buildings, seeking out old structures, finding which parking garage roof tops have the best views and vantage points- and taking pictures of what I see, what I find- is one of my absolute favorite things to do. It’s storytelling in a moment. It’s a love story in a click.
I shoot all of my photos with an iPhone 15, and am really grateful I don’t have to buy rolls (and rolls and rolls) of film.
I want to study filmmaking after high school. Taking still photos and framing out small images helps me see the potential for bigger pictures.
