Artist Statement:
My two pieces are based on the city of Chicago. My reasoning behind submitting these pieces is because they are two of my favorite drawings that represent where I was born. I’m most comfortable with making pencil drawings because it’s something I’ve done since middle school. I enjoy sitting down and losing all sense of time while making them. These drawings mean a lot to me because it reminds me of my roots and who I am. I’m very proud of my drawings because it’s not something that I can do in a day. I take my time to ensure that they include many details.
