Artist Statement:
The birds in the trees, the leaves on the ground, and the way the light hits the little bit of mint left at the bottom of my glass are all just little charms of life. My photo, ‘I Finished my Drink!!!’ captures this. Photography is a powerful tool that can tell stories and reveal the intimate details of how someone sees the world. It also encourages you to see things from a different perspective, I learned this as I shot the photos for my work, ‘Triptych of the Self’. Initially, I had thought the shoot was a failure as it didn’t meet my expectations. However, the results were surprising and reminded me that I had gotten too comfortable in what I know. Photography has taught me a lot and still, I have a lot to learn.
