Artist Statement: My artwork is an optical illusion that’s purpose is to appear like the sides are curving into the black outline. To do this I had to go darker on the sides and lighter in the middle. I was inspired to use the colors I chose from a picture book that had lots of illustrations in the style of this artwork. While I was making this piece of art I wanted to master the skill of shading. I loved making this art because it involved a lot of different color schemes.
