Artist Statement: Inspired by Comte Régis de Bouvier de Cachard “Solitude”, this artwork is a representation of loneliness where a girl lives on a singled out “planet” within the space of contrasting joyful purple and blue “planets”. The white “planet” that pops out of the canvas, creates emphasis, bringing the focus points of viewers to the lonely girl. The girl’s red hair was cut off from the thin red string to isolate herself from the other “planets” connected by that thin red string, becoming truly alone.
