Artist Statement: This piece was inspired by a sunrise I saw while driving on the highway on the way to school, but I wasn’t able to fully appreciate it because of the factory buildings obscuring it. The vivid sunrise is covered by the factory’s smog and contrasted by black and white buildings covering the prettiest part of the sunrise. This piece conveys an example of the current issue of humans and industries ruining beautiful parts of nature.
