Artist Statement: This is my community superhero project. I researched six different community needs: environment, education, transportation, safety, health/wellness, and housing insecurity. Based on the research I found that Bridgeport has no good education. There are no high schools in this area and also that 20% of Bridgeport only have an HS diploma or equivalent, and I wanted to create a community superhero that addressed this need. My superhero has the power to donate laptops, tablets, and clear touch screens. I created a badge that represents these powers. One thing I learned through this project is that I learned to make a vector drawing into an animation. I hope to spread awareness of this need in the community by seeing you all at the art gallery.
