Artist Statement: As an artist, I am always attuned to my surroundings and am constantly forging pathways between the world around me and my emotions, memories, and ideas. I am always trying to find ways to express the feelings and thoughts that a moment or setting elicits in me. I am always experimenting with unique color schemes, varying levels of realism and detail; always considering angles, reflections, dimensions, textures, and moods- trying to make the best decisions to capture the essence of the subject through my eyes. What I am not always achieving is success, but I feel that the pieces I have chosen to include in my application mark important steps in my artistic journey and genuinely convey my personal relationship to an image or environment.
