Artist Statement: My artwork centers around the connections that different communities across Chicago form. Whether it be connections through religion, culture, holidays, school events, social justice issues, and more. Throughout media, the voices of minorities and their communities often get lost and misrepresented, but with my artwork, I hope to capture the significant moments that help define a community. I hope to also capture the strength of different communities and inspire my audience to reflect on their own role in communities.
