Description: “Paintings are… dominated by a sense of movement and action”(Charles M Russell) that creates this dramatic energy but in my work, there is a sense of calmness and mutual understanding between the Indian and Cowboy. Unlike Russell who created a movie within a single canvas, I thought to make my work reflect a photo from an encounter. The Cowboy occupies a small portion of the image because the Cowboy represents the new arrivals to the west from the east.
