Artist Statement: “Essence of Spring” is an acrylic painting on canvas by Michelle Yee, Keller Regional Gifted Center. Michelle shared that, “My artwork is really simple and elegant. I really enjoy nature, including different types of flowers. For this artwork, I was thinking about spring and wanted to paint some lavender flowers in a clear jar. I wanted to give the outline of the jar a pop-out, so i painted the background black, so the light colors pop out. I painted whatever popped up in my mind, since spring is coming. Different shades of green for the leaves also gave the stem a clear visual pop-out of it.”
