Artist Statement: People feel love through affection and through feelings of pain like despair. My art represents those both sides of love. While creating this drawing, I looked for various references and I found a perfect model. After finding the references, I used a blue color pencil to create the composition and white paint for highlights. I thickened and lightened various lines and parts to show darkness, curves, and depth rather than the entire artwork being light and blue. Using the blue color pencil helped me be more cautious knowing that I wouldn’t be able to erase my lines and shapes. After making the first drawing, I drew another one by using the same process. I cut out the drawing and deliberately glued it onto another piece of paper to create more dimension to the story.
