Description: Murphy was born of absolute happenstance, of an impulse to make an absent-mindedly drawn sketch of him move in some dynamic way, which refreshingly challenged me to come up with something unhinged with no prior preparation aside from a margin doodle and no attempt at an initial sketch of any kind. This creative freedom allowed my imagination to be as buck wild as it chose and thus whatever flew in my mind was immediately drawn into the frames with absolutely no second thought. I began with a quick blink cycle and as my ideas grew, so did Murphy, evolving with each sequence that popped in my head—in a way the process itself turned out to be its purpose; a visual commentary on developmental growth and the morphing of new things and perspectives.
