Artist Statement: I took this photograph because I wanted to capture an environment that was ambient, yet busy. The self-portrait was an assignment that I wanted to open up myself in as I am a timid person. I usually think about what I want to capture and how I want an image to look, I like working with subjects and environments that have various colors because it draws attention to certain details. Motion is an aspect of photography that interests me because it catches a moment in which an action is taking place, it can be a way of creating a memory. The work that I have done has usually been captured during a moment that I do not want to forget such as a special event or bonding with a friend or relative. Through the photographs I relive those moments.
