Artist Statement: The card means moving on when you let go of the past. I was inspired by the lyric “That’s why even if it is scary I can keep on living, when the sun rises, I’ll start walking again” from Yoru Ga Akeru by Given. In the painting i’m surrounded by water which represents darkness and im trying to reach the butterflies which represent hope. The bright colors surrounding me represents all the people in my life who are trying to help me feel better but I realized that If I want to feel better I need to take the first step
