Artist Statement: This portfolio is a documentary series during our sponsored time at Anderson Ranch in Aspen, Colorado. I took a photo journalism class with several other classmates, completing a series of assignments with several challenges scattered throughout. My main focus and strength was documenting the Aspen weekly rodeo, which I found to be comfortable and fun. What I have learned in the class was that photography needs to frame a moment, to time it specially to what you see and experience. To capture the feeling and emotions gained from the experience. As this is a documentary assignment, I did not stage nor direct any of these moments.
