Artist Statement: The battle within myself of anger and sadness, then the combination of both. As the red represents anger, the blue represents sadness, and the purple, a mix of the two emotions. Age 17 was a tough one for me, as I struggled with my mental health for a solid year. I would say that year was one of the most impactful years of my life. I used colored pencils to draw myself and used acrylic paint to paint my hoodie and hair to contrast with one another.
