Artist Statement: This painting depicts the transformation of an old neighborhood to a modern one. (Gentrification)
I use the sharp clean lines to produce a sense of stillness. The line lines flow from top to bottom to create motionless. The placement of contrasting colors are used to create a sense of loneliness that coexists with the old and the modern.
