Description: This piece is a observational still life for my current studio drawing class at school. Our prompt was to include objects which represented ourselves while focusing on the elements of contour drawing, shading techniques, and the anatomy of lighting.
My piece represents my typical workplace whenever I am creating. The succulent symbolizes my love for nature, especially its ability to bring diversity and beauty to our world. The speaker symbolizes my passion for music. Whenever I am creating I always listen to music because the creative individuality expressed through it contributes to my own creative process. The paint brushes, my love for creativity and my ability to apply my creative individuality. The paint tubes represent myself, as an individual I am filled with creativity inside which is always brought out in different aspects of my life. Nature, music, and art are three major aspects of my life because they embody uniqueness in not only myself but our world too.
Artist Statement: The tangible aspects of my life are a great source of inspiration for me, and whether that is from nature or the book I read, my art reflects those aspects of my life. Not only do I enjoy creating art in traditional styles, but I have a passion for digital illustration, as it allows for the creation of art through new methods of technology.
