Artist Statement: When the high school where I teach English shut down in March 2020, due to Covid-19, I began painting a mural on a large, blank wall in our basement. I used latex for the surface and then painted on it various sea creatures, using water colors and acrylics. I think these creatures may be manifestations of my feeling “under water” during the pandemic last year.
