Artist Statement: This painting was inspired by Vincent Van Gogh “Starry Starry Night,” and my cat. Vincent was an unappreciated artist whose techniques were beyond his times. Every stroke had a meaning and purpose which were mesmerizing. I have a picture of my cat staring out the window during this year’s winter storm, his eyes were wide open and no one could get his attention. He was fixated just like I am with Vincent. I wanted to recreate the parts of “Starry Night” that I loved and I wanted my cat which I also love to be in it. Combining both my cat’s fixation on snow and mine to strokes “Oh, what the cat sees” was created.
