Artist Statement: I made this piece because it was Black History month back then and I decided to choose James Baldwin because he is a hard worker who talks about problems as an activist, poet, essayist, novelist, and playwright! What this piece means to me is that James Baldwin is a helpful person to the world, like trying to solve LGBTQ+ hatred (which is in the background) and racial hatred.
