Description: Piano Composition
Artist Statement: Composed in 2012 using Finale and MIDI Software. In Closing was written to be the final song of my Senior Recital in College. Musically, the first movement resembles duality and circular relationships by using parallel Major and Minor keys, and a reoccurring V (Five) Chord that reintroduces the melodic theme in an ever evolving yet still familiar chord progression. The second movement represents sweetness. The third movement suggests triumph and emphasizes more minor tonality until the picardy third surprise major chord at the end, representing pride and completion.
