Description: This shot was part of a look book for a small clothing brand called Homegrown Studios. Here we see one of the models tearing off a piece of what was originally a backdrop and getting creative.

Artist Statement: My artistic process is very, very experimental. Analog photography serves as my primary medium, not only because I like the look of film, but because the physical aspects of it are extremely fun. I’m always excited to find cameras and/or film to play with in attics or thrift stores. I try to capture images that evoke feelings of nostalgia or otherworldly comfort. Because I often play with older cameras and expired film, I’m never fully in control of my camera or the way my photos look. The approach I take of just shooting and seeing what happens has resulted in some very fun photos, but sometimes I try to take control and capture photos that are a bit more calculated and clear. Portraiture is where I shine. I’m very passionate about exploring the city with friends and documenting them as they do what they love during their teenage years. Skating around downtown Chicago in a group is truly enchanting, and I try to capture this feeling as best I can. Life is a grand, mysterious, and overall beautiful thing. I wish to illustrate this with my work.
