Artist Statement: By removing the defining characteristics from the focal point of this picture, I am separating what is known about this individual from that which has yet to be understood; all that remains is uncertainty: pure potential. The silhouette faces the sun, positioned to embrace the future while casting a shadow reflective of the previous iteration, an outdated representation of the caster’s persona. Much like a blank canvas, the caster is yet to be defined.
