Artist Statement:
With this piece, I decided to challenge myself to make something that I can siphon my feelings into. I decided to use fake blood as a facet of this work, specifically to highlight the process of birth and simulate almost a “birth through blood”, the thing being born being the piece and perhaps myself. I chose red and black materials in multiple different mediums, as they are usually symbols of rage, and I tried to reflect that in my mark making.
