Artist Statement: Noun. sonder: The feeling of realizing that everyone, including strangers passed in the street, has a life as complex as one’s own, which they are constantly living despite one’s personal lack of awareness of it.
The following photos are a part of a project I am working on based around the feeling, sonder. Directly focusing on family members as they are people a part of my everyday life and I have come to realize that I never truly considered how they spend their days while interacting with me and others. Trying to photograph and encapsulate a glimpse into their viewpoints, and complexity or simplicity of their lives, as well as incorporating myself into many of the photos to show how I play a role in their lives.
