Artist Statement: As a photographer, I am interested in transforming ordinary objects through my camera lens. I am drawn to humorous and playful visual ideas, as well as mysterious and somber tones. Creating photographs allows me to learn, while still having fun. When I compose each frame, I feel empowered to visualize my own unique perspective through all the different choices I have as an artist: colors, textures, lines etc. My work embodies the values that were instilled into me at home: having an open mind, always being ready to take on a new challenge, yet still staying true to myself. I constantly rely on the creative process–it provides me comfort, vision, and clarity.
