Artist Statement:
This drawing was inspired by the description of the experiences of Pontius Pilate, Procurator of Judea, in Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel “The Master and Margarita”. Although this artwork is faithful to the imagery in Bulgakov’s writing, the composition of the piece is entirely my own.
