Artist Statement: My mobile is formed by masks that represent the social media I am most involved with,  Facebook and Instagram. I made hands as a way of defining how social media makes me feel. I can feel the hands of everyone on me and the responsibility to post content to be good and perfect like everyone else.  To be on top of trends and never be behind. For my painting I wanted to print some images but I decided to sketch them and paint them to express how much social media has affected me in creating a perfect image, impossible to live up to. The painting on the right side reflects how I always feel with my cellphone, being connected to it like an addiction. Thanks to this mobile piece I realized how much I am  affected by being on social media every single day.  I will be taking a break and I hope everyone can do the same because there’s a beautiful life outside of our screens and we should live like there’s no tomorrow.
