Artist Statement: The right side of the face represents a physical version of myself. The cool and dull colors, composed of chalk pastel and Prisma Markers set the tone to create feelings of lifelessness. The left side is an outline of the other side of my face filled with magazine pieces that reminded me of things that represent me. This symbolizes that people are more than their physical appearance. The background consists of henna and zentangle inspired patterns. These patterns symbolize outside forces that can affect us to feel a certain way.
