Artist Statement: This was a sneaker design for a project during class. My favorite shoe is the vans slip ons and that is the shoe I decided to create my design on. My idea was a way to incorporate Chicago into my design so I added the skyline on both shoes. Another one of my favorite things is the skyline during the nighttime and during the sun setting, which is the reason for each shoe looking different. Then I wanted to add the dripping eye on the bean because it is a cool concept which looks together and makes it feel graffiti like. Which is the reason why I tried to write the tittle in letter similar to those in graffiti.
